Senior Citizen Prom

Fitzgerald Public Schools proudly hosted a Senior Citizen Prom for community members on February 4, welcoming approximately 70 attendees for an evening of connection, भोजन, and celebration.

Sponsored by the Board of Education’s Community Relations Committee, the Valentine’s Day–themed dinner and dance took place inside the Neigebaur Administration Building on the Fitzgerald High School campus. The event was offered at no cost to guests—attendees simply had to promise to have a good time.

Students played a meaningful role throughout the evening, assisting seniors and building connections. Each table was paired with at least one senior student, creating opportunities for conversation and shared experiences.

“I’m very excited to continue the tradition of having a successful event that brings together our seniors and members of the community,” said Brian Michael, English teacher and senior class co-advisor. “The students develop their soft skills getting to know strangers and making a difference in someone’s life.”

The district’s food service department prepared the meal, while several band students provided live entertainment during dinner. A highlight of the evening was the popular pudding bar. After dinner, a DJ kept the energy high as attendees filled the dance floor and danced the night away.

The event also welcomed special guests, including the mayor of Warren and a reporter from the Warren Weekly, who covered the celebration.

In addition to the Senior Prom, the district hosts an annual fall luncheon where seniors enjoy bingo and fellowship. Fitzgerald Public Schools looks forward to continuing the Senior Prom tradition each year in the late winter or early spring, strengthening connections between students and the community.
